Spay Neuter Information

The Isle of Wight County Humane Society offers assistance to county residents for the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats. We will pay a portion of the veterinary bill for those who can’t afford the full cost of altering a pet. To apply, call 357-4214 and leave a message requesting spay or neuter assistance. We will contact you by phone for details about your request.

The Humane Society also sponsers the PETA Spay and Neuter Immediately, Please! (SNIP) van. The SNIP van visits Smithfield every 3rd Tuesday of the month at Keene's Automotive, 1802 S Church St Smithfield, VA 23430. Directions. Appointments are required.

Services available on the SNIP van

Low-cost spays/neuters of cats, dogs, and rabbits.

FeLV/FIV testing available for surgery felines.

Heartworm testing available for surgery canines.

Microchipping available for surgery patients.

Shots and flea preventative are available for a fee for cats and dogs from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
